All of our furniture is constructed using English grown hardwood timber, such as oak, ash, beech and cherry much of which is grown locally. The majority is supplied by a local farmer who carefully manages 150 acres of native hardwoods. Our source is therefore controlled, sustainable and close-by, no long, polluting journeys from lorries.

Each commission is constructed to the highest standards using traditional methods. Where applicable hand made dovetail joints are the norm and every piece of furniture is designed and hand crafted to the customers specifications; each piece is therefore an original and, as such, discretely bears the John Chivers mark.
